Dr Doucas was very understanding when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and was looking for someone to do a mastectomy on me. Having been given his number, I went to see him, thinking he was a general surgeon. He put me in touch with a general surgeon colleague and the following week I had the mastectomy, which was needed.

Dr Doucas made a point of being there to do immediate reconstruction without using a skin expander, which he knew I was not keen on. He did an excellent job and in a few months' time I will go back to him for the nipple reconstruction.
